You Should Know

A song about breaking free from a bad relationship, while still being grateful for what you learned

Swedish electropop artist Patricia Stehlik releases her debut single “You Should Know”. A song about breaking free from a bad relationship, while still being grateful for what you learned. The track was written as a collaborative effort with pop hit-maker Sanna Martinez (lyrics), and producers Philip Crusner and Jonathan Thorpenberg (frontman to The Unguided).

“The song is basically about moving on from an ex/destructive relationship that was almost too good to be true.” Stehlik tells us. “You give your all to a person and it’s still not enough.”

In the beginning, the protagonist remembers the good times. Stehlik sings in a low, nostalgic tone that can almost remind you of Lana del Rey. But as the track progresses, the realization of ignored red flags ends in a climax where the protagonist admits feeling better after leaving.

“I think it’s important to convey the message that time really heals your wounds and that you’re not alone, things will get better if you just give it time.” Stehlik concludes.

The lyrics were written in collaboration with Sanna Martinez, who is known for TV placements like Love Island USA and has a booming artist career after graduating from Musikmakarna.

Gothenburg- based producer Jonathan Thorpenberg is mostly known for his work with The Unguided, but he’s also produced several EDM hits through the years.

Patricia Stehlik got signed to Rexius Records in 2019 and started working on her solo debut soon after. “You Should Know” will be released on March 18th.
