Savoring the moment
Swedish pop artist Henry Em urges you to enjoy the moment with her new song, “The Rhythm”, a track filled with catchy synth sounds and a sensual atmosphere that can be reminiscent of the sound of artists like Ariana Grande and Zara Larsson.
“It’s about being in the moment with someone”, comments Henry Em, while discussing the track’s topic.
Behind the song’s genesis, she describes a desire to create a special atmosphere to refuge on, “I feel like writing this song really was a way for me to deal with a lot of boredom and mental health issues I was going through and just wanting to feel electric and alive in a sense. To create space for an escape”.
Recorded with the help of producer Petter Lithvall, the song brings out a new sound for Henry Em, “it stands out a bit more in my opinion”, she relays.
Henry Em studied at BIMM in London, a music college that has educated musicians like Ella Mai and George Ezra. During her time in London, she got selected to perform at renowned music venues “Under the Bridge” and “299 the Venue”.
The artist released her first singles in 2018 and 2019, the year she signed with Gothenburg-based Rexius Records, with whom she released her single “CNT B US”. She’s currently preparing to release “The Rhythm” on February 3rd.
