American alternative hip hop artist Schmitty creates music that seeks to uplift the listener. With lyrics that connect to his personal experiences and life, his broad set of influences go from rock classics like Bon Jovi to hip hop artists like Post Malone and Blackbear.
Schmitty’s connection with music has strengthened through the different stages of his life. Starting in his early years with a childhood dream of becoming an “American Idol” winner and growing with him through his highschool years and his tenure in the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
The hardships of life shaped Schmitty’s positive perspective on life, his childhood years taught him the important role music had in his capacity to stay positive in spite of the difficulties, the songs that made him smile became a safe haven through it all.
This realization has become an essential part of his identity as an artist, inspiring him to become a beacon of positivity for others as his favorite artists were for him.
Friendship would also become an essential part of his life. Along with two of his academy friends he formed the group “The Chibe Tribe”, on which he started his music career.
Schmitty released his first single in 2020, following two more the next year. In 2021 he signed with Rexius Records, releasing his popular songs “Best Friends” and “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” with the label.
