Honest, soulful and grounded in reality
Swedish singer/songwriter Aleco recognizes music as a healing process. Influenced by artists such as Bon Iver and Hozier, his works reflect a mature perspective on life and his ups and downs.
Speaking on the connection between his personal life and music, he relays how his music helped him go through two difficult separations, “I used my music and lyrics to heal and in some way still do”.
Having found a healing tool in music, he hopes to inspire the same process in others, “maybe people with similar experiences can recognize themselves in my lyrics”.
With family as one of the most important things in his life, he chose the name Aleco (short for Alexandros) to stay in touch with his Greek roots from his father’s side. This connection and maturity are reflected in his music, on which he portrays his most personal experiences.
With a long and varied music trajectory on his shoulders, his highlights include the rock band Stonepark, from 2000 to 2009 and his role in the duo Aleco and Mathisson from 2016 to 2018. In 2009 he released a solo EP called “Aleco”.
The artist got signed to Gothenburg-based Rexius Records in 2021. In the spring of 2022 he is preparing for his first release with the label.
