A simple sentence came to me
As I contemplated mortality
My own, my friends, those on TV
It’s time to stop all the wars
Children’s bodies blown into the sky
Seas running red, wells running dry
Just to survive see how hard people try
It’s time to stop all the wars
So how do all the wars take place?
Far away or right in your face
They use bombs and missiles and pictures from space
To help them arrive on time
But none of that stuff comes for free, it’s bought by everyone’s military
And yes, that’s right, that’s you and me
It’s time to stop all the wars
What would all the prophets say
If I could speak with them today
I think it’s likely that they would say
It’s time to stop all the wars
Stop the guns, stay the bombs
Kill no more children, maim no more Mums
Reunite the fathers and sons
Stop, stop all the wars
I said STOP
