AOA – “Shut Up!”

Irish alt-rock outfit AOA fire off “Shut Up!”, a neon pop-punk shot that turns bite-your-tongue anxiety into a chant-ready demand: “don’t tell me to wait—just listen.” Tracked at Start Together Studios (Northern Ireland) with producer/mixer/mastering engineer Michael Bell, the single races on sprinting drums, gritty downstrokes, gang vocals, and a hook engineered for sweaty stages and skate-park playlists.

AOA—Caolán Fitzsimons (vocals, rhythm guitar, keys, glockenspiel), Owen Crummey (lead guitar), Jake Fox (bass), and Adam Din (drums)—channel working-class grit into high-gloss melody, bridging classic pop-punk energy with a modern, radio-tight sheen. Lyrically, the band’s defiant stance remains intact: speaking up against posturing, pressure, and control while carving out a voice for the everyday crowd.

Formed in 2023, AOA have already left a mark at Féile an Phobail and with their breakout “Pennies Off The Deck”, culminating in the debut EP Whataboutisms (2024). With “Shut Up!”, they sharpen the attack: faster, louder, stickier—an unapologetic reminder to say the quiet part out loud.
