MakeUpYourMind Releases “Music Industry” – A Bold Critique Wrapped in Progressive Rock
Italian artist MakeUpYourMind returns with “Music Industry,” a single that dares to question the very system it’s part of. Blending elements of progressive and experimental rock, the track offers a raw, philosophical dissection of how capitalism and commercial formulas shape modern music.
Driven by gritty guitar riffs, jagged rhythmic structures, and Simone Marsilio’s emotionally charged vocals, “Music Industry” delivers a sonic manifesto. The lyrics take aim at conformity, repetitive formulas, and the industry’s aversion to artistic risk. Simone, a PhD in philosophy, draws inspiration from artists like TOOL and System of a Down, pairing deep lyrical commentary with intense musical arrangements.
Recorded in Italy at Novenove Studio, the track features a trio of skilled performers: Marsilio on vocals, guitar, and piano, Lele Garro on bass, and Silvio Centamore on drums. It was produced by Alessandro Boriani and mixed/mastered by Simone Tornaquindici.
The release continues MakeUpYourMind’s mission to merge intellectual exploration with dynamic musical experimentation. It follows the artist’s 2024 signing with Rexius Records and builds on a discography already rich in genre-blending sounds and emotional depth.
