Swedish pop singer-songwriter Merlot captivates listeners with her intimate, introspective music. Inspired by a wide array of genres and artists such as SZA and H.E.R., Merlot’s songs whisper heartfelt confessions of personal thoughts and emotions.

“All the songs I write kind of start out as something I want to say but don’t have the courage to tell someone” she relays, as she details her creative process and her close personal connection to her songs. “I do have some difficulties in expressing my feelings, so I turn them into songs to relieve them.”

The openness of Merlot’s music takes listeners on a journey of emotional exploration and self-reflection, inviting them to rediscover the power of authenticity and the relief of sincere self-expression.

Merlot’s versatility has led her to craft songs that explore genres like R&B, jazz, and acoustic pop, her evolution as a songwriter has driven her to break the limitations of genres in search of a sound that is true to her deep inner self.

After a period of doubts and uncertainty, Merlot found the definitive calling to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter. In 2023, she signed with Gothenburg-based Rexius Records, aiming to continue discovering her artistic voice and crafting more open-hearted, soulful songs.
