A Vulnerable New Voice in Scandinavian Indie Folk

Johannes is an emerging Swedish indie folk artist who crafts introspective and emotional songs about the less-talked-about aspects of life. Echoing the style of influential artists such as Gregory Alan Isakov and Iron & Wine, johannes’ poignant lyrics explore the most vulnerable aspects of human existence.

Johannes’ musical journey began with a childhood passion for drums, leading him to play in various bands and navigate the local scene of his hometown. In 2022, he decided to embrace the guitar and started learning to play the instrument, which opened up a wide range of creative possibilities for him.

His newfound love for the guitar led johannes to become a singer/songwriter, allowing him to put his emotions into music and transform them into original songs. Constantly evolving as a musician, he began channeling his various folk, americana, and country influences into an acoustic guitar-driven, personal sound.

Johannes’ songs share a common longing for better times, touching on the most difficult, even humiliating moments of life and the secrets they convey. They explore the struggles that are not often witnessed, and the permanent hope of finding short relief amidst the frequent hardships of everyday existence.

In 2023, johannes took the next step of his creative journey when he signed with Rexius Records. Together, they hope to share more of his intimate songs with the world.
