Jocke

Artist

Jocke and his dreams stand against the background of Hisingen’s concrete-dressed suburban landscape. His mix of modern hip hop and old-school underground rap stems from his upbringing in Tuve. His peculiar way to express himself has led to collaborations with household names the likes of Näääk, Sebbe Staxx, Syster Sol, and Özz Nûjen.

Jocke ended up at a juvenile home at the age of 12. While in there, he started talking things out through his pen. Being a long way from any studio or stage, he turned to the only source of venting he had – his words. When recording opportunities finally arrived, his Hising realism hit the Swedish hip hop scene close to home. This led to creative partnerships with some of the country’s most well-established artists.

After a series of EPs and singles during the 2010s, it was time for “Terapi”, his debut album from 2019. “Mitt liv” (My Life) came the year after, followed by the single “Fuck alla dom” (Fuck Them All). A typical Jocke song about his hometown, the past, and having a strong belief in himself.

Joakim “Jocke” Horwath processes his reality through texts and trust, dreams and hope, always keeping both feet steadily on the asphalt.
