Born in Kemi, Lapland, Free Heart was founded in 2004 with a mission to revive the epic melodies and storytelling of ’70s and ’80s metal while forging a sound uniquely their own. Their lyrics, rooted in personal experience, explore themes of trauma, inner conflict, relationships, sexuality, and the fear of death—balanced by unity, defiance, and the liberating power of rock. Over the years, their signature sound has evolved, incorporating lush keyboards, commanding rhythms, and a dynamic balance between melody and intensity.

With three full-length albums, including Great Again (2020), Free Heart has earned a reputation for explosive live performances and anthemic songwriting. Their tracks have resonated with fans who crave powerful choruses, electrifying riffs, and emotionally charged lyrics. In 2024, the band signed with Rexius Records, gearing up for their most ambitious era yet, with four new singles and an upcoming album.
